Golf
The Baobab Golf Course at Vipingo Ridge is Kenyas’ newest golf course and has been built to international standards, with the world renowned USGA specification being used for all aspects of the course.
The location of the course, having spectacular views of the Indian Ocean to the east and the vast African interior with its stunning sunsets to the west, gives golfers a fantastic visual of one of the most impressive areas of natural beauty in Kenya.
The course was designed by David Jones, a board member of the European Tour and former Kenya Open Champion and was also officially opened by him during an inaugural ceremony in August 2009.
A meandering system of waterfalls, lakes and streams runs through the course giving a real risk-reward quality to many holes and also creating new natural habitats for birds and wildlife.
A computerized and fully automated irrigation system, fine Bermuda grass throughout the fairways and the greens, and state-of-the-art green-keeping equipment, guarantee that the undulating course is in great condition at all times.
Extensive fairway modeling and the planting of thousands of new trees has ensured that every hole has strategic elements to bring interest and enjoyment to ones game.
The already-in-use 300 metre driving range with targets and short-game greens, allows the golf enthusiast to replicate every conceivable type of shot.
Endorsed by Ian Woosnam OBE, a former world no 1 and US Masters winner, both The Baobab and The Palm 18-hole par 72 championship courses at Vipingo Ridge will bring an unparalleled new dimension to golf in East Africa.

Ian Woosnam OBE, Former World No 1, US Masters winner and 2006 Ryder Cup European Captain said: "The developers of Vipingo Ridge, Kenya are friends of mine and mentioned this project to me over two years ago.
