Go Jump at Vipingo Ridge

AN ARTICLE BY GO JUMP KENYA:
REINVENTING THE STANDARDS FOR SKYDIVING IN EAST AFRICA

We may be biased, but we believe that skydiving over the incredible sights of Vipingo Ridge and landing on their beautiful beach in Kilifi County, Kenya, is one of the most breathtaking experiences of a lifetime.

Go Jump Kenya is the first ever Dropzone in Kenya that is owned and operated by a Kenyan citizen, who is also the first internationally recognized skydive instructor from Kenya.

Go Jump Kenya is pleased to offer both male and female instructors, who are some of the most experienced instructors in the world!

The owner is also the first Kenyan to ever be certified as an internationally recognized FAA Senior Parachute Rigger. In fact, she is the only FAA Senior Parachute Rigger in all of East Africa, allowing us to focus on the utmost safety and maintenance of all of our equipment.

We are a member of the largest skydive federation in the world, the United States Parachute Association (USPA), which is the global leader in the industry, setting standards worldwide. Our safety procedures and skydive policies stem from USPA and all of our instructors are USPA rated.

Our instructors have over 50 years combined experience in the sport and together they have accumulated an impressive 30,000+ jumps spanning over 30 different countries on 5 continents across the globe as professional skydivers.

WHO WE ARE, WHAT WE ARE AND WHY DO WE DO IT!

WHAT...

Go Jump Kenya operates under Sentient Skies Ltd., which is a Kenyan owned and operated company created to facilitate Skydiving throughout the year within Kenya in the safest and most current manner.

We operate under the jurisdiction of the Civil Aviation (Parachute) Regulations, 2007 of the Civil Aviation Act under the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA).

We also operate as a foreign affiliate to the USPA (United States Parachute Association) as a way to uphold a high level of international training and safety standards in everything we do.

WHO...

We are the first Skydive company that is owned and operated in Kenya by a Kenyan born Citizen. The owner is not only Kenyan, but the first ever female skydiver from Kenya to be licensed as an internationally recognized multi-rated Skydive Instructor and Parachute Rigger, and has furthermore gained substantial international experience in the skydiving industry working and training throughout the world.

WHY...

Our mission is to provide highly experienced instructors, both male and female, who focus on facilitating regular skydive operations in Kenya by maintaining safe, current, and progressive standards in everything we do.

Our vision encompasses our core values and beliefs. We aim to:

  • Provide a safe, enjoyable and world-class skydiving experience for both experienced and first-time skydivers in Kenya, regardless of gender or background, while creating a personalized experience that our guests will remember.

  • Build a positive and welcoming community of participants in the sport by advocating safe and efficient practices, while adhering to both the legal requirements in Kenya and the international best practice standards.

  • Train student skydivers to the internationally recognized standards of FAI, giving them the necessary skills and qualifications to safely and responsibly skydive worldwide.

The landscape of Vipingo Ridge and the Kilifi County Coastline is one of the most stunning views over one of the most pristine beaches in the world, which is why we chose to skydive here. We couldn’t have asked for a better team or a better place, and we’re very excited to bring a new level of safety and training to all the future skydivers in Kenya.

WHAT IS A TANDEM SKYDIVE?

A tandem skydive is the quickest and easiest way to experience the thrill of freefall along with a spectacular canopy ride over the impressive Kenyan coastline, while securely harnessed to one of our experienced instructors and without any significant training.

The term "Tandem parachute jump" means a parachute jump in which two people participate using one parachute to land safely on the ground. One is the experienced skydiving instructor and the second person is the one who is experiencing skydiving for the first time.

HOW IT WORKS

It all begins with a 15-20 minute briefing from one of our experienced instructors to ensure that you get the most out of the experience while taking every precaution to ensure your safety. After gearing up, you will take a short car ride to Vipingo Airstrip and then board the airplane where you will enjoy a spectacular 25 minute scenic flight as you climb to jump altitude.

As you get to the exit point, you will be securely attached to the front of your instructor. From there, all you need to do is enjoy the experience and take in the beautiful view as you freefall towards the beach at approximately 200 km/hour for 45 seconds.

Once your main parachute deploys, you will enjoy an amazing 7-8 minute canopy ride, while taking in the breathtaking views over the magnificent Kenyan coastline, then finally landing back on the beach right infront of Vipingo Beach Blub.

This is one of the most spectacular things you will experience in a lifetime. Don’t take our word for it though, see for yourself and book your skydive today!

For an additional $50-$100 you can walk away from your skydive with more than just memories. Have your skydive filmed and either made into photos or a professionally edited video capturing your entire experience so that you can relieve it and make it truly unforgettable.
