New bar at the Clubhouse: The 19th
The wait is over. This Friday, October 31st, Vipingo Ridge is set to celebrate a major milestone as the new ‘19th Hole’ Bar at the Clubhouse reopens its doors following a three-week closure for renovations.
A cherished hub for golfers and residents alike, the bar at the PGA Baobab has has been transformed to offer a fresh, elevated experience overlooking the 18th green.
The upgrade signifies Vipingo Ridge’s commitment to continually enhancing its world-class amenities.
A Refresh for a Premier Destination
The brief shutdown was a strategic move to execute comprehensive improvements, ensuring the bar maintains its status as the perfect sanctuary for post-round celebrations, casual meetings, and sunset cocktails.
While the details of the renovation have been kept under wraps, the expectation is a chic, contemporary design that harmonizes effortlessly with the Clubhouse’s existing elegance, a fusion of Moorish and Swahili styles and maximising its spectacular views overlooking the greens.
The new environment promises not only a sophisticated visual appeal but also a more comfortable and functional space for the diverse Vipingo Ridge community. It reinforces the estate’s position as a premier luxury and lifestyle destination on the Kenyan coast.
Focus on Local Artisans and Fundis
The renovation has included many local details and products, in line with our sustainable and local procurement strategy, aiming to bring a cohesive but personal style to the new bar.
From locally milled and sustainably harvested wood, transformed by local woodworkers into our designer wooden screens to handcrafted wooden fans, the bar boasts both new pieces and old. The reclaimed features include an old Mombasa window as the centre piece, home to a native plants feature on a piece of old Nyali Bridge.
The acoustic panels are supported by a range of new lighting, including a piece created by hand in Malindi by brass artisans, and locally made seedling lights, made from the seeds of the iconic Baobab tree. These are perfectly at home at the bar of the PGA Baobab Course.
Celebrate the Grand Reopening
Golfers finishing their Friday round and all residents are invited to be the first to experience the refurbishment this Friday. The reopening coincides perfectly with the start of the weekend, offering an ideal opportunity to raise a glass of Vipingo Mule and usher in this exciting new chapter for the Clubhouse social scene.
Our thanks to East African Breweries for supporting the relaunch.
