Festive December Golf Highlights at the PGA Baobab Course
December delivered a festive and thrilling chapter of golf at the PGA Baobab Course, bringing our members and guests together for a month of high-stakes competition and holiday cheer.
From the unique Don Julio Tombstone Challenge to the high-energy ‘Untamed Texas Scramble’ the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship shone brightly as we closed out a spectacular 2025.
3rd December – Clubnite
The month teed off with our signature Wednesday Clubnite, where a competitive field gathered for the first event of the festive season.
Winner: Sue Williamson

5th December – Friday Roll-up
The first Friday Roll-up of the month saw strong play from our guests, adding to the vibrant atmosphere at the Ridge.
Best Guest Winner: Lawrence Wangach
10th December – Clubnite
A mid-month Clubnite delivered a spirited contest with some familiar names returning to the top of the leaderboard.
Winner: Tim Williams
Runner-Up: Anthony Howie
12th December – Friday Roll-up
Our Friday Roll-up on the 12th featured some standout individual play.
Ezekiel Wafula emerged as the Overall Winner for the event.
12th December – Bring and Win, and Friday Roll-up
It was a busy Friday. The ‘Bring and Win’ format brought a touch of holiday spirit to the course. This is a members only 12-hole competition that finishes at the ‘The Baobab’ with a brunch event for Members to exchange gifts and have a long brunch together, in a stunning setting.

13th December – The Untamed
One of the month’s most exciting highlights, ‘the Untamed’ was a Texas Scramble format, and saw a fantastic turnout for the launch of this new competition for 2026. Your presence and enthusiasm made the event a resounding success.

17 th December – Clubnite
As the holidays approached, the competition remained fierce on the fairways.
Winner: Chania Frost
Runner-Up: Karen Baillie
19th December – Friday Roll-up
The Friday Roll-up on the 19th saw a fantastic performance at the top of the leader’s board. Sifa Dena, Malindi Golf Captain, claimed the top spot with an impressive 30 points
20th December – Mug and Medal Results
The prestigious Monthly Mug and Medal took place as a high-stakes single-day event to finish the year’s Mug and Medal series.
The Frost family mirrored their mid-week success with a dominant showing. Richard Frost took home the Mug with a clinical 70 net, while Chania Frost secured the Medal victory with an impressive 69 net.
Paul Chivatsi led the visitors as the Guest Winner with a 71 net.
23rd December – Caddies Competition
Just before Christmas, we celebrated the talent and hard work of the team behind the scenes with the fiercely contested Caddies Competition.
Overall Winner: Everlyn Kambi
Runner-Up: Omar Suleiman
Third Place: Hellen Jilani
24th December – Christmas Eve Clubnite
Players took to the course for a final 9-hole dash before the holiday celebrations began.
Winner: Tim Williams (21 points)
Runner-Up: Joe Carvalho (18 points)
Best Guest: Dianah Kimani (19 points)
26th December – Boxing Day Tombstone
A holiday tradition at Vipingo Ridge, the Tombstone ‘Last Man Standing’ competition tested both skill and endurance. This was an event for the over 18s, sponsored by Don Julio Tequila.
Drinking Shots on the 1st, 4th, 7th, 10th and 15th - or taking a penalty shot was the name of the game. This also included non-golfers who were assigned a handicap.

28th December – Casino Results
High stakes and strategy defined the late-month Casino event, in this event you play for money as well as the glory.

Runner-Up: Aniz Popat (37 points)
Third Place: Rashid Juma (35 points)
Best 1st 9: Kiema Kilonzo (19 points)
Best 2nd 9: Francesca Biancacci (19 points)
31st December – New Year’s Eve Clubnite
The final competition of the year concluded with a dedicated finish with a great turnout of players.
Winner: Steve Wairia (20 points) - Steve arrived to collect his prize before heading to the Beach Club for a family new year’s event.
