Ladies European Tour golf magic returns to Vipingo Ridge

In one month the first Ladies European Tour (LET) event of 2024 will be teeing off in Kenya at the PGA Baobab Course at Vipingo Ridge, Kilifi. We will welcome players from all over the world to the Magical Kenya Ladies Open, the only professional women’s competition in East Africa.

2024 is the fourth year of the event at Vipingo Ridge

The first LET event at Vipingo Ridge was in 2019, resuming again after Covid-19 in 2022. Following a successful 2023 event, we are back for our fourth year. We welcome once again event organisers and promoters U.COM, who always deliver a world-class event at our 18-hole championship course for the LET.

We anticipate 108 players as ladies from across the world come together to begin the 2024 LET season, Kenya style.

World-class golf, celebrating Kenya

There is a great program of activity at Vipingo Ridge starting from Monday 5th February 2024. From picturesque practice days and beach exploration, to engaging the local community and seeing some of the Vipingo Ridge wildlife, the build up is full of unique experiences for the visiting players and teams.

Kenya number one Naomi Wafula is back at Vipingo Ridge training as the event draws near.

After making Ladies European Tour history last year as the first Kenyan to make the cut, she’s the local talent to watch out for.

The PGA Academy will also once again host player-led opportunities to learn about golf for the local community. This experience combined with the amazing story of Naomi’s success is all part of Vipingo Ridge and U.COM inspiring the next generation of Kenyan golfers.

Kilifi Kenya on the Global Stage

On Wednesday 7th February 2024 the popular Pro-Am is back, with a great day of golf planned. We also have the return of the popular LET Village with local vendors, event sponsors and entertainment at the heart of Vipingo Ridge.

On Thursday 8the February and Friday 9th February the main event is on, as these talented sportswomen compete to make the cut. On Saturday 10th February and Sunday 11th February the competition continues with the reduced field, with the event concluding on Sunday afternoon. This is followed by a closing ceremony crowning the first champion of the 2024 LET season.

The event will be shown internationally with millions of viewers tuning in to the action.

Vipingo Ridge Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Alex Horsey comments: “We are delighted to welcome back the Ladies European Tour. The Magical Kenya Ladies Open is a highlight in the Vipingo Ridge calendar, a world-class international event at our unique venue. We are looking forward to a wonderful week of golf and welcome the LET players, teams and sponsors.”
