May Play at the PGA Baobab Course
It’s been a mixed month at our Championship Course. Fantastic welcome rains and quieter Clubnites, but some cracking competitions and golf groups have made for an exciting month. Here we recap the highlights of the May golf calendar.
Clubnite Wrap Up
In May our Friday’s weekly events were impacted by the much needed rains, but our Members and guest players did play some great golf, as the course ‘greened up’ and the water reserves restocked.
Labour Day Bonus Competition
The new Golf Club Committee introduced a 12-hole with brunch competition for the Public Holiday.
The fun format - 3 clubs and a putter - made for a great morning, followed by a relaxed brunch poolside.
Mid-Month Men v Ladies 4BBB Competition
We introduced a new fun annual team based competition this May.
This ‘battle of the sexes’ was well received by the Members, and ultimately the Men were victorious.
Round Robin Playoff and Results
Each year the Members sign up to play head to head games over the Round Robin season. In the 2025 competition it came right to the wire.
There was an exciting playoff with former Golf Captain Richard playing the final 18th hole playoff against Beth. Ultimately, Beth was victorious and crowned the 2025 Champion.
Mercedes-Benz Golf Event
Coming up 31st May 2025. Stay tuned for the photos and highlights.
Welcoming Golf Groups
At Vipingo Ridge we love to welcome groups of golfers looking to experience Africa’s only PGA golf course.
Golf Group from Iceland
Following a successful familiarisation trip earlier in 2025, we welcomed the first group from Iceland to Vipingo Ridge this May. We look forward to their next trip - scheduled for 2026.
Golf Wanderers Escapes
This group have included Vipingo Ridge as the premier course of their coastal excursion to play a trio of the top courses in Kilifi and Mombasa.
If you would like to come with a golf group, we have great packages for guests staying in the Vipingo Ridge Signature Villas, with preferential greens fees to play our championship course too.
