Naomi Advances on the Professional Golf Tours
After making history with a hole-in-one and cutting through the field in her very first professional event outside Kenya in Rwanda, Naomi Wafula, Golf Professional of Vipingo Ridge, continues to blaze a trail on the professional golf circuit.
Her journey has now seen her compete in six professional events, the most recent being the prestigious Great Rift Valley tournament. Though she narrowly missed the cut by just two shots, she describes the experience as both challenging and rewarding, adding that it has brought her even closer to the full professional tour experience she has always dreamed of.
“This journey has been amazing so far,” she shared. “Great Rift was a tough fight, but it taught me a lot and motivates me to keep working harder. Every event is a lesson.”
Headed to golf in Nakuru
This week, Naomi is set to compete in the 5th leg of the PGK Equator Tour, her 8th professional event, which will be in Nakuru, proudly standing as the only female in the field once again.
Her presence on these tours not only marks a personal milestone but also sends a powerful message of inspiration to women and girls who aspire to pursue golf at the highest level:
“I hope that by continuing to show up and compete, I can inspire more women to join me on these tours in the future,” she said.
As she tees off today 2nd October 2025 in Nakuru, Naomi carries the valuable lessons from her Rwanda debut and Great Rift experience into the next challenge with determination and gratitude.
Day 1 results are in, and Naomi is flying - Position 2 and the only lady golfer in the field:
On to Royal in Nairobi
Looking ahead, life on tour continues as Naomi will be competing from Monday, 13th October to Wednesday, 15th October in the Sunshine Development Tour East Africa Swing at the Royal Nairobi Golf Club, marking yet another exciting step in her professional journey.
We congratulate her on her remarkable achievements so far and wish her the very best as she continues to grow, inspire, and represent the next generation of professional golfers.
