National Tree Planting Day

In November 2023 President Ruto announced a tree planting Public Holiday as part of a wider plan to plant millions of trees in Kenya in the coming years.

On Friday 10th May another tree planting event has been confirmed, this time to honour the victims of the recent flooding and as a proactive climate change measure.

Tree Planting Activity

We will aim to continue our new forest area, which is along the Horse Boma at top of the Ridge. We will add to the almost 350 trees that have been planted in the last 6 months in the area. We welcome donations to both plant a tree and to donate to a worthy cause to support the flood victims.

Donate to Participate

  • Minimum donation 1000/- per tree, recommended 2000/- donation.

  • Multiple transactions will be logged as multiple trees to be planted.

  • All proceeds will be directly sent to Flood Relief organisations to support the humanitarian efforts during this devastating time.

Payment is to the Vipingo Ridge Events Paybill: 4061611

Account Number: Tree - Your Name

If you would like to plant your tree please contact us on +254 700 337 489, otherwise your tree will be planted tomorrow (and over the weekend if demand is high) by the Vipingo Ridge team.

In November we were able to plant over 300 trees in the weekend linked to the Public Holiday, this allocated area is the start of a new forest habitat that we continue to nurture. Read our blog about the tree planting, and also learn more about the native trees we grow in our plant nursery:

Vipingo Ridge continues to align closely with these national tree planting initiatives, encouraging all stakeholders to engage with the tree planting and other climate conscious activities.
