January Golf Wrap Up at the PGA Baobab Course
January delivered an action-packed start to the new year at the PGA Baobab Course, bringing our members and guests together for a month of high-stakes competition, tradition, and community spirit. We welcomed a number of visiting groups to explore the unique Vipingo Ridge golfing experience.
From the prestigious Captain’s Week celebrations to the competitive intensity of the inaugural Club Championship, camaraderie and sportsmanship shone brightly as we teed off 2026.
6th January – Captain’s Week Caddies Competition
Captain’s Week began with a focus on the dedicated team behind the scenes. The Caddies Competition saw some fantastic scores:
Winner: Elson Nyige (39 points)
Runner-Up: Rafael Ziro (36 points)
Third Place: Caroline Sulubu (35 points)
7th January – Captain’s Week Clubnite
Our first Wednesday Clubnite of the year set a high bar for the weeks to follow.
Winner: Richard Frost (22 points)
Runner-Up: Tim Williams (21 points)
9th January – Captain’s Week - Caddies vs. Members Competition
One of the most anticipated social fixtures of Captain’s Week, the Caddies vs. Members match. It was a day of great fun, concluding with a celebratory prize-giving.
Winners: Caddies (181 points)
Runners-Up: Members (160 points)
Captain Les Baillie presented the prizes, including special a cake and a new Dart Board for the Caddies.
11th January – Captain’s Day
On Sunday, we celebrated prestigious Captain’s Day with a well-attended tournament and prize-giving. A big thank you to Davis & Shirtliff for their generous sponsorship of this event.

12th January – Captain’s Week Men vs. Ladies Competition
Bragging rights were on the line during this popular challenge. We are pleased to announce that the Ladies team emerged victorious after a stellar performance. Congratulations to the ladies.
This event concluded a very successful Captain’s Week for our 2025 Captain Les Baillie. We thank him and his wife Karen for their dedication to the Club and hard work in 2025.
14th January – Clubnite
Following Captain’s Week our Captain was on strong form. The mid-month Clubnite saw a great turnout and some very consistent play from the Baillie family.

21st January – Clubnite
Competition remained fierce as we moved into the second half of the month with great performances from the ladies.

The final Clubnite of January featured a spirited contest to close out the month's Wednesday series.

31st January – Club Championship Results
The month concluded with our prestigious Club Championship, testing the skill and nerve of our top golfers over 18-holes. This was the inaugural Club Championship, marking a new prestigious event at the PGA Baobab course.
