Valentines is a Golfing Highlight in busy February

This February we blended romance with golf, with a fun ‘couples’ competition, we even played matchmaker to those golfers looking for a playing partner. Our weekly Clubnites complimented a spirited Valentine’s Day tournament and the monthly Mug and Medal, rounding up a busy month of guests golf and community spirit from our Members.


4th February – Clubnite

We kicked off the month with a fantastic turnout for our first Wednesday Clubnite. A huge thank you to everyone who supported the competition and joined us for the prize-giving. Fitting for the month of romance, our first winners and runners up were couple Joe and Jane:

11th February – Clubnite

The competitive energy continued into the second week of February, with a win from Club Captain Les Baillie and Committee Member Sue Williamson.

14th February – Valentine’s Golf Day

Love was in the air and on the course for our Valentine’s Golf Day.

There was an 18-hole competition, and players were welcomed with roses and a ‘French 75 cocktail’ at our Pool Gardens venue, set for a romantic evening. Prizegiving was followed by a 3-course french inspired menu by our Executive Chef while a live saxophonist played to the gathered crowd.

This special event brought pairs together for an event of fun and friendly rivalry, featuring a variety of categories:

·        Overall Mixed Pair Winners: Kiragu Gichuri & Rose Musau (49 points)

·        Non-Mixed Pair Winners: Charlotte Roser & Sue Williamson (43 points)

·        Front 9 Pair Winners: Cherry Ritchie & Andrew Ritchie (24 points)

·        Back 9 Pair Winners: Les Baillie & Karen Baillie (23 points)

·        Valentine Mixed Guest Pair Winners: Nina Omeke & Bakobi Oke (27 points)

Special Prizes:

·        Straightest Drive: Sue Williamson (1.5 ft)

·        Nearest to the Pin: Damaris Olale (2.5 ft)


18th February – Clubnite

The mid-month Clubnite saw a familiar name at the top of the leaderboards, as the Baillie family continued their strong form for the season.

·        Winner: Karen Baillie

·        Runner-Up: Les Baillie


21st February – Monthly Mug and Medal

The 21st saw the return of the Monthly Mug and Medal, a test of consistency and skill that remains a staple of our golfing calendar.

·        Mug Winner: Anthony Howie (75 net)

·        Medal Winner: Shaida Samji (81 net)


24th February – Caddies Competition

Improving the golf and knowledge of the course for our dedicated caddie team, includes a monthly competition, delivering some of the most impressive scores of the month. A big thank you to Andrew Ritchie and Cherry Ritchie for their generous sponsorship of this event.

  • Overall Winner: Elson Nyinge (68 net)

  • Runner-Up: Moses Epili (71 net)

  • Third Place: Mwamweru Dona (78 net)

  • Best Lady: Everlyn Kambi


25th February – Clubnite

We closed out the month’s Wednesday series with a spirited contest. The final Clubnite of February featured excellent play and a closely contested finish.
