Business Africa Daily: Why Mombasa people are moving to Vipingo from Nyali

The Markets & Finance section of Business Africa Daily recently reported on the developments in Nyali and observed the impact it has had on the residents. It has been interesting to see the trend identified in this recent article coming to life here at Vipingo Ridge.

In the report they discuss the evolving landscape of neighbouring Nyali and challenges with infrastructure. The article focusses particularly on the sewage and waste management issues arising from the introduction of higher rise properties. Technologies, such as biodigesters are credited with addressing the challenge in this particular area.

We would add that we are seeing the almost daily power outages in Nyali as being another major challenge for residents. We believe our focus on uptime, supplementing our utilities through our investment sustainable power and water infrastructure, is a real a draw to our Vipingo Ridge community.

We have both solar and rain water harvesting programmes within our development, aiming for 100% uptime from our utilities, making life more comfortable for our residents and guests.

Beyond utilities our 'controlled development' approach: building guidelines and approvals processes that create harmonious neighbourhoods.

Plot locations and sizes are carefully selected and with both height and footprint rules, the future of the development is assured. Our recent release of 15 new plots for sale in the M Plots collection is a great example of this: maximising elevations, views and clear lines between existing plots. This future promise of a cohesive community is certainly also driving the interest in moving, as discussed in the article.

We love to see investment and development in Mombasa and Kenya, and it is interesting to see how residents are interacting with these changes.
