Tournament win for shining star in golf talent programme
We recently updated at the half way stage of the US KIDS Coast Tour how our sponsored local talent Tatiana was performing. As the Series comes to a close we reflect on the events and the partnership.
Talent development partnerships
The US KIDS programme is a Vipingo Ridge partner organisation that has a variety of initiatives. For example two of our lady players in our talent programme, Jacky, and the Kenyan number 1 amateur, Naomi are registered as US KIDS coaches, having completed certification with US KIDS to coach children.
Our grass roots youth development programme in golf at Vipingo Ridge is just one of a number of corporate social responsibility activities that we passionate about.
Tatiana is an amazing talent identified locally, in fact her mother runs the local dukka (shop) in Vipingo village.
US KIDS Coast Tour result
This tournament is part of a 6 round series based at the Kenyan coast, encouraging young golfers to learn sportsmanship, develop their social skills and of course be active outside.
The series has now come to a close and we’re delighted to congratulate Tatiana for a fantastic win at the recently completed US KIDS Coast Tour.
17-year old Tatiana was sponsored throughout this tournament series by Vipingo Ridge, coached by our PGA Professional Saleem, attending events up and down the Kenyan coast.
Tatiana actually won all the events for her age group at the US KIDS Coast Tour and has also won a few senior tournaments since learning to play golf and her success is a reflection of the talent and potential we have within our local community.
She finished 100 points clear on the scoreboard having dominated the event. Join us in celebrating Tatiana's great achievement and we wish her continued success in her future events.
Coming up is Tatiana's final opportunity to participate in the Regional US KIDS tournament to be held at Muthaiga between the 15th & 17th December 2023.
