Teamwork in action: Working together for our Greens Program
We all know that the greens are the most important parts of a golf course, requiring a consistent playing surface across the 18 holes and the practice greens.
In order to keep the greens in top shape it’s essential to have programs of work to aerate and clear the build up of thatch which can impact their ability to absorb water and lead to other issues. In 2026 we’ve undertaken a large scale program of deep works to ultimately improve our playing conditions on the PGA Baobab Course.
Starting with a deep verticutting, scarifying, holoting and finally top dressing - it’s been an intensive program, but we also have more pressure - we need to try to execute as close as possible to the expected seasonal rains, so that mother nature helps us with the recovery.
Challenge accepted. Take a look at the work in action:
What really stands out here is the team, the men and women that passionately care for the golf course and their team work together to get the job done.
Teamwork is a Vipingo Ridge value
At Vipingo Ridge we are ‘United by Teamwork’, as one of our values. It drives our team to collaborate and support eachother.
Vipingo Ridge employs over 450 people, working across a number of disciplines, from hospitality, including food and beverage, housekeeping and laundry, to security, administration and accounts, infrastructure and estate management, and of course greenkeeping.
We aim for 70% of our core team to be from the local communities, creating a pathway of employment opportunities for local people and a true sense of community within Vipingo Ridge.
This latest greenkeeping program is a great example of the team coming together and supporting each other to get the job done - and as always with a smile on their faces - we could not be prouder of our team, who finished just in time for the rains.
