Highlights from July on the PGA Baobab Course

July delivered another great month of golf at Vipingo Ridge, highlighted by remarkable consistency from our members and exceptional performances from our caddies. We welcomed a number of golf groups from other Kenyan Clubs as well which added some great camaraderie, particularly on Friday Roll ups. The PGA Baobab Course remained the centre of weekly competition, with Clubnite drawing strong fields and the monthly Mug and Medal providing a fitting climax to the month.

From Joe Carvalho's dominant run to the Caddies Competition showcasing talent, the competitive spirit thrived. We extend our gratitude to everyone who supported the competitions and attended the prizegivings events.

1st July – Clubnite

We kicked off the month with a strong performance from Joe Carvalho for the first July Clubnite, presented his prize by Committee Member Anthony Denton, who was also the runner up.

  • Winner: Joe Carvalho (18 points)

  • Runner up: Anthony Denton (16 points)

8th July – Clubnite

The second Clubnite of the month saw a tight race for the top spot, with the best guest posting an impressive score.

  • Winner: Tim Williams (18 points)

  • Runner up: Chris Everard (17 points)

  • Best Guest: Brenda Aidah (24 points)

15th July – Clubnite

Mid-month brought another competitive outing, with Joe returning to the winning position. Committee Member Chris Everard presided over the prizegiving.

  • Winner: Joe Carvalho (20 points)

  • Runner up: Anthony Howie (19 points)

22nd July – Clubnite

The penultimate Clubnite of the month saw a tie at the top between the winner and best guest.

  • Winner: Giancarlo Bonanno (19 points)

  • Best Guest: Adil Suleman (19 points)

25th July – Mug Results

The monthly Mug competition delivered another excellent performance to close out the month's major events and another win for Joe.

  • Mug Winner: Joe Carvalho (72 nett)

28th  July – Caddies Competition

Our monthly caddies competition showed impressive scores, reflecting the high level of talent within our team. A special thank you to Giancarlo Bonanno and Francesca Biancacci for sponsoring this competition.

  • Overall Winner: Mamweru Dona (66 Nett)

  • Runner Up: Helen Jilani (67 Nett)

  • Third: Everlyne Kambi (70 Nett)

29th July – Clubnite

The final Clubnite of the month saw a dominant performance, with Joe Carvalho securing his final win of July and a second podium for Giankki.

  • Winner: Joe Carvalho (21 points)

  • Runner up: Giancarlo Bonanno (18 points)

Looking Ahead

As we move into August, we look forward to more competitive play and welcoming both familiar faces and guests back to the PGA Baobab Course.
